Standards-based integration

Built to connect, and never to lock you in

H-Link speaks the standards other health systems use, so it can work alongside what you already run — and your records can always leave in a format another system can read.

The problem

What it is built to fix

Islands of data

Laboratory, imaging and pharmacy systems that each hold part of the record and share none of it.

Vendor lock-in

Records stored in a format only one supplier can read, making it expensive to ever change.

Referrals on paper

Patients carrying handwritten notes between facilities, with results that never follow them.

Capabilities

What Interoperability Hub does

FHIR R4

The international standard for exchanging health data between systems.

What is included in FHIR R4: 4 items
  • FHIR R4 resources for patients, encounters, observations, medications and more
  • Bulk data export of a facility’s records
  • A capability statement built from what the server actually supports, and a conformance report that says “unverified” where it cannot tell
  • Referrals sent as FHIR, or by email where the receiving facility has no FHIR endpoint

HL7 v2 and ASTM

The message formats hospital systems and laboratory analysers already use.

What is included in HL7 v2 and ASTM: 3 items
  • Receives HL7 v2 messages over a secure HTTPS connection
  • Sends admissions, discharges (ADT) and lab results (ORU) to the systems you choose, with corrections marked as corrections
  • Laboratory analyser interfaces over HL7 and ASTM

DICOM imaging

Imaging studies stored and viewed alongside the rest of the record.

What is included in DICOM imaging: 3 items
  • DICOM study storage
  • Built-in viewer with measurement and annotation
  • Structured radiology reports

Patient summaries and documents

A record that can travel with the patient.

What is included in Patient summaries and documents: 2 items
  • International Patient Summary (IPS): export, import and validation
  • C-CDA documents imported and converted to FHIR

Migration from your old system

Bring your history with you when you move to H-Link.

What is included in Migration from your old system: 3 items
  • Your old data is profiled, and a mapping is suggested for review
  • Rules apply the agreed mapping, so the result is repeatable
  • Patients matched against existing records, with uncertain matches sent for review

Frequently asked questions

Can we get all our data out?

Clinical records can be exported in FHIR R4 through the bulk data interface, and several modules have their own exports. Imaging studies remain standard DICOM.

Can H-Link run alongside our current system?

Yes. During a transition, H-Link can exchange data with other systems over FHIR and HL7 v2. We scope the integrations you need during discovery.
