Hospital, standalone & research laboratories

A laboratory system for the bench, not just the front desk

Requests arrive from the clinic or the counter, samples are tracked from collection to result, and verified results go straight back to the clinician — with every test charged as it is verified.

H-Link lab results, with each value plotted against its reference range and flagged normal, abnormal or critical.

The problem

What it is built to fix

Results that do not reach the clinician

Handwritten results walked across the hospital, transcribed into another system, or simply lost.

Tests done but never billed

When requests, results and billing live in different places, performed tests slip through without a charge.

Quality control on paper

QC runs recorded in exercise books, where a drifting analyser goes unnoticed until results are questioned.

Capabilities

What Laboratory does

Clinical laboratory (LIS)

For hospital laboratories and standalone labs that take walk-in and referred patients.

What is included in Clinical laboratory (LIS): 5 items
  • Test requests from clinicians, the front desk or external clients
  • Sample collection, labelling and tracking
  • Bench worklists and batch result entry
  • Reference ranges with abnormal and critical flags
  • Verification before results are released
The laboratory order queue, with urgent and routine requests and specimen collection.

Results you can trust

Checks the software enforces, not a checklist on the wall.

What is included in Results you can trust: 5 items
  • Reference ranges by age, sex and pregnancy, with delta checks and reflex tests
  • Quality control with Westgard rules: a failed run blocks release
  • Once your lab records staff competencies, only staff with a current competency for a test can sign it off
  • Unacknowledged critical results escalate from the ordering clinician to the supervisor, then the director
  • Analyser interfaces over HL7 and ASTM, confirmed instrument by instrument

Blood bank

Transfusion safety rules that cannot be skipped.

What is included in Blood bank: 4 items
  • Forward and reverse ABO typing, with two-sample confirmation from separately collected tubes
  • No red cells issued without a valid crossmatch, except a recorded emergency release
  • ABO-incompatible issue refused, with no override
  • Returned units go back to stock only if temperature and time out of storage allow

Pricing and billing

Each test carries its price, and the charge is raised when the result is verified.

What is included in Pricing and billing: 4 items
  • Test catalogue with prices
  • Charges raised on verification
  • NHIS and private payer billing
  • A client portal where referring clinics order, see results and check their account

Research laboratory (LIMS)

For academic and research labs whose unit of work is a study, not a patient visit.

What is included in Research laboratory (LIMS): 4 items
  • Studies with IRB tracking, and SOPs
  • Sample registration and storage, with an audit trail of every move
  • Assays, runs and QC
  • Grant and chargeback billing

Workflow

From request to released result

  1. Request

A test is ordered in the consultation or at the counter.

  2. Collect

The sample is collected, labelled and tracked.

  3. Run

It appears on the right bench worklist; results are entered or received from the analyser.

  4. Verify

A scientist verifies, and the charge is raised.

  5. Release

The result reaches the clinician’s in-basket, and the patient is told it is ready, without the values in the message.

Frequently asked questions

Can a standalone laboratory use H-Link without the hospital modules?

Yes. Standalone laboratory plans include only the laboratory and billing modules, priced for a single lab. See pricing.

Which analysers do you connect to?

Analysers that send results over HL7 or ASTM. We confirm your specific instruments during discovery.

Is the research LIMS a separate product?

It runs on the same platform, with its own study- and sample-centred workspace, and can be bought on its own as the Research Lab plan.
